Checking the condition for pair of linear equations in two variables.

With the help of this activity, we have learnt that: If a_1/a≠b_1/b≠c_1/c then both the lines intersect at a unique point and vice versa. It means this system of equations has a unique solution. This type of linear equation system is called ‘consistent with a unique solution’. If a_1/a=b_1/b≠c_1/c then both the lines are parallel and never intersect and vice versa. It means these equations don’t have any solution. This type of linear equation system is called ‘inconsistent’. If a_1/a=b_1/b=c_1/c then both the lines are identical and vice versa. It means these equations have infinitely many solutions. This type of linear equation system is called ‘consistent with infinite solutions’.
