Combining Shapes to Create New Shapes

Students will change the size of, and then combine different sized shapes in order to create new, larger or smaller shapes. This activity covers the following Common Core State Standard: Analyze, compare, create, and compose shapes. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.G.B.6 Compose simple shapes to form larger shapes. For example, "Can you join these two triangles with full sides touching to make a rectangle?"
