Sine & Cosine Function Modeling: Finding Correct Parameters

This applet generates random sinusoidal waves that can be modeled with a function of the form y = a sin(bx - c) + d OR y = a cos(bx - c) + d Students' job is to determine a correct set of parameters (a, b, c, & d) so that the graph of the trigonometric function they create matches the graph displayed on the screen. There are INFINITELY MANY CORRECT PARAMETERIZATIONS of the function displayed. Students are encouraged to create a few possibilities within this applet. If a student's model is correct, the applet will immediately indicate this. Students enter in EXACT (not approximate) values of parameters. (For ex, 2*pi/15 is simply entered as "2pi/15" in the inputbox.)
