Using the slope-intercept equation.

Student use sliders of the slope and intercept to manipulate the graph in order to have it pass through certain quadrants. In the process they gain familiarity with the effect of changing the two parameters. As an extension, ask students to get the graph to pass through Quadrants I and IV. In trying to attempt this, students get an intuitive feeling why this is not possible by using the slope-intercept equation.
