Twitter Bird - just for fun!
I started by importing the image of the Twitter bird. Then I graphed a circle for each piece of the outline with sliders controlling each vertex and radius. I found the relevant points of intersection, and then I constructed arcs.
Challenge your students to do this if a free-form picture is too difficult.
