Aristarchos' shadow length (cone issue)

The Earth lies between the tip of its own shadow and the Sun. Therefore, the angle at the tip of the Earth's shadow cannot be exactly equal to the Sun's or Moon's apparent size (as seen from Earth). Yet, can this angle be used to measure the Moon's distance?
