Reflection of a two dimensional figure in the origin

Summary With the help of this activity, we have learnt that: 1. Reflection of a point A (x, y) in x-axis is A’(x, -y) and midpoint of AA’ will lie on the x axis. 2. Reflection of a point A(x, y) in y-axis is A’’(-x, y) and midpoint of AA’ will lie on the y axis. 3. Reflection of a point A(x, y) in origin is A’’’(-x, -y) and midpoint is the origin itself. 4. Midpoint of a point A and it’s reflection in any line (A’) will lie upon on that line itself. 5. x coordinate will remain same if we reflect any point in a horizontal line. 6. x and y coordinates will interchange if we reflect a point in the line y=x ((x,y)→(y,x)). 7. Reflection of the point A(x,y) in the line y=-x will be A’(-y,-x).
