Use this simplified tool bar to create simple geometric figures.
Sum of interior angles practice
1.) Create regular triangle
a) click on the regular polygon tab
b) label two random points (A and B)
c) when prompted enter 3 for the vertices
2.) Calculate the sum of the interior angles: Formula=(n-2)*180
3.) Calculate each angle for a regular polygon: Formula= (n-2)*180 / n
4.) Use the applet to check your answer
a) click on the angle tab
b) click on segment: AB & AC, CA & CB, and BA & BC
c) compare your results
*Answer: Sum of the interior =180, Each angle=60
5.) Repeat the process creating a polygon with 5,6, and 9 vertices
6.) Calculate the sum of the interior and each angle using the formulas
7.) Use the applet to check your results
