This figure appears in La Géometrie by René Descartes (1596-1650), p. 24. The points ‘A’ and ‘X’ are dynamic. Three curved lines through A are the loci of D, F & H as X moves along a circular path. Descartes’ work is in the collection of Marsh’s Library, Dublin.
