INDUCTION MACHINE: Field space distribution

One phase of a stator 2-pole sinusoidal winding is pictured. The size of the red circles gives a measure of this spatial distribution. The winding normally carries a current that varies sinusoidally with time. The air-gap fields (H, B, and mmf) are also sinusoidally distributed in space as illustrated in the animation. The sinusoidal distributions may be represented by space vectors oriented along the horizontal axis.
