Similarity Investigation 1 (Two Angles)
Can we determine similarity between two triangles if all we know is that two pairs of corresponding angles are congruent?
Below is a visual that was designed to help you investigate this situation.
Feel free to move the locations of the black vertices (corners) of either triangle and/or drag the slider on the left to change the size of the white triangle before slowly dragging the slider on the right. Pay careful attention to what happens.
You can zoom in or out within the activity window by scrolling if you are using a mouse or by pinching and zooming if you are using a trackpad, tablet, or phone.
Make sure you answer the questions in your guided notes as you complete this activity.
Conclusion
Are two pairs of congruent corresponding angles enough to determine similarity? Answer in your guided notes.
