Spiraling Squares - a.k.a. The Four Ants problem
- Bill Lombard
Spiraling Squares - an exercise in rotation, dilation, and sequence commands in GeoGebra This GeoGebra app models a problem called “The Four Ants.” Four ants are at the four corners of a square with side of length 1. At the same time each ant starts walking at the same speed directly toward the ant on his right.
Eventually all four ants will converge at the center of the square. 1- What path does each ant follow? 2- What is the distance each ant walks until it reaches the center?
