Translating Verbal Expressions

In the applet below, a verbal expression is given. Your job is to take that verbal expression and write it as an algebraic expression. When translating, use "x" as your variable. That is, whenever the applet says "a number", take that to mean "x". If you translate an expression correctly, you'll see a big "CORRECT !!!" sign appear. There are 15 different types of problems this applet will generate for you if you work with it long enough. This skill of translating is VITAL to successfully modeling problems we'll soon be solving in the future! So, practice this skill as many times as you need in order to master this concept!
