Content Knowledge

Prior to the lessons, students should have content knowledge in the following:
- Quadratic equation of the parabola. This would include both standard form and vertex form as well as be able to convert between the two.
- For the vertex form of the parabola, students should know the impact of each coefficient and constant and how they affect compression/stretch and translations.
- How to find the inverse of a function and how they look on a graph, being a reflection on the line y=x.
- The equation of the circle in both general form and standard form. Students should be able to convert between the two including completing the square. They should also know how to find the center of the circle and radius given both forms.
- The equation of the ellipse in standard form should be understood. This includes identifying the axes and foci.
