Bisect a line segment

I first created a segment to bisect with the two points button. Next i drew point C with the new points button . Selecting the compass once again i selected points C and B to define the length of my circles radius and then selected point B for the circle center. While still using the compass, I drew another circle the same size but with the center at point A. I then selected point B , C and A in that order. Next i used the intersect two object button to identify the points of intersection between circle center A and circle center B and drew a line throughout the two points. Now that DE bisects and is perpendicular to AB, therefore it is a perpendicular bisector.
