Think of right triangle ABC where the hypotenuse stays the same length, as angle A increases from a small angle to a large angle. What happens to Cos A as this change happens to angle A? You can use the sample triangle below to help form and test your hypothesis. Drag point A to change the size of the acute angles. Type a new hypotenuse into the input box and press enter to try the exercise with a different triangle. There are some limitations to the hypotenuse size due to space on the page. Reload the page if you run into any problems with your triangle.
