Measuring forces

How to measure force

Forces can be measured by devices such as springs. The deforming effect of the force is used to measure forces. The greater the force, the more a spring is stretched. This relationship is applied to the measuring device, the spring force gauge, the spring dynamometer. There is a spring in a sleeve. Attached to this a cylinder with markings. If you pull on the spring or hang an object on it. or hang an object on it, the spring expands. With the help of the markings you can read off the strength of the force. Since a spring cannot be stretched spring can be stretched at will, there are spring force gauges with different spring stiffnesses and scales, which are suitable for different measuring ranges.
