CCGPS CA 5.1.3 Example 1

Topic:
Symmetry
Given a regular pentagon , draw the lines of symmetry.
  1. First, draw the pentagon and label the vertices.
  2. Extend a line from vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side.
  3. Now move to the next vertex, , and extend a line to the midpoint of the opposite side.
  4. Continue around to each vertex, extending a line from the vertex to the midpoint of the opposing line segment.
Note: Move points and to change the size and orientation of the pentagon. This applet is provided by Walch Education as supplemental material for the CCGPS Coordinate Algebra program. Visit www.walch.com for more information on our resources.
