Exploring the Chain Rule (advanced with ceiling & floor)
- Chris Harrow
This construction shows graphs of y=sin(x^k) and its derivative with the ceiling and floor functions of the derivative. When k=1, as in the initial setup, you see the familiar (sinx)'=cosx. Explore the relationship between sin(x^k) and its derivative by varying k. Conjecture a formula for the derivative of sin(x^k).
