LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of phase D, learners can solve contextual problems using the mathematical concepts and skills learned in this phase They can present and solve linear equations of one variable and solve daily life problems using linear equations of one variable.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Determine the solution of linear equations of one variable using the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
The solution of PLSV must fulfill : 1. Each equation remains equivalent if both parts of the equation are added or subtracted with the same number. Example: x + 15 = 21, x replaced with 6 becomes 6 + 15 = 21 (correct sentence) x + 15 - 15 = 21 - 15 (both segments minus 15) x = 6 2. Every equation remains equivalent if both parts of the equation are multiplied and divided example: (3/5)a=6 (5/3) X (3/5)a=6 X (5/3) a=30/3=10
