#8 Perpendicular Line Through a Noncollinear Point
Step-by-Step Instructions
a. Construct a circle with a radius length of CA and center the circle at C.
b. Place D in the second location where the circle intersects segment AB.
c. Create a copy of the circle and center it at A.
d. Create a copy of the circle and center it at D.
e. Show E where these last two circles intersect.
f. Construct a line passing through C and E.
g. Change the color/thickness of the line.
h. Show F with the line intersects the segment.
i. Use the angle tool to verify that the line and segment are perpendicular.
Analysis
To the best of your ability, analyze why line CE passes through the segment at a right angle, rather than at a slant.
