Busan KCC ended the first half with three consecutive wins, beating Seoul SK's momentum with "12 consecutive wins."
KCC beat SK 90-75 completely at the 2023-24 regular basketball match held at Sajik Gymnasium in Busan on Wednesday. KCC, which also caught SK following Goyang Sono and Ulsan Hyundai Mobis, has won three consecutive games.
Until the middle of the first half, KCC had many games where scores were widened due to frequent errors in the first quarter and lost due to exhaustion of physical strength. Recently, as the number of errors in the first quarter decreased and defense concentration increased, more games led, and naturally, the number of wins increased.
On the same day, KCC had a 27-15 lead on the day by banking on internal and external performances of Choi Joon-yong, Ra Gun-ah, and Heo Woong. KCC manager Jeon Chang-jin, who looked gloomy throughout the first half of the season due to his unexpected slump, also looked cheerful for the first time after the game. "This is the best game of the season. I had a good balance between offense and defense. I was satisfied with both defense and rebound, and the Sixers who played in the middle also performed well. KCC Ra Gun-ah scored 29 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists, while Hur Woong scored 22 points, two rebounds, and four assists. Ra Gun-ah overtook Aaron Haynes (retired) to rank second overall in scoring (10,901 points) in the KBL. The top scorer was Seo Jang-hoon (13,231 points). Besides them, Choi Joon-yong, who scored 15 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, and Lee Ho-hyun, who scored 12 points, two rebounds, and four assists, have displayed outstanding performances.
5th-ranked KCC, which beat SK's momentum, which has been on a steep rise, harvested its 16th win (12 losses) of the season and narrowed the gap with 4th-ranked Changwon LG to 1.5.
