Centroid of a Triangle

  1. I started by creating a triangle.
  2. I then used the midpoint of a segment tool to find the midpoint of each edge of the triangle.
  3. I used the segment tool to create a segment from the midpoint of an edge to its opposite vertex.
  4. I used the intersect tool to place a point at the centroid labeled as (5.71, 1.56) in red.
  5. I included measurement lengths to showcase the distance from the centroid to each vertex is 2/3 of the distance from each vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side.
  6. I also showed the distance from the midpoint of each edge to the centroid to show this is 1/2 of the distance from centroid to the opposite vertex.
