A bit about Audácia Concreta.

Several exhibitions titled Audácia Concreta were held, showcasing works by Luiz Sacilotto. Audácia Concreta: As colagens de Luiz Sacilotto, curated by Fernanda Lopes, highlighted a series of collages the artist created in response to the physical limitations imposed by his health in the last years of his life. These works reveal a unique combination of the geometric rigor characteristic of Concretism and experimental freedom, reflecting Sacilotto’s creative versatility, even amidst physical challenges. The exhibitions not only reveal his creative process but also the depth of his artistic production, especially in the use of abstract and geometric forms in the collages. (Caixa Cultural São Paulo - SESC Santo André). Audácia Concreta: As obras de Luiz Sacilotto, curated by Claudinei Roberto da Silva, offered a retrospective of the artist’s work, with pieces created between 1949 and his death in 2003, and was on display from April 30 to October 4, 2015, at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum in Curitiba (MON). We invite the reader to visit the blog Laboratório de Arte/Vida (How Many Circles Fit in a Circle?), which contains information and images of the works exhibited at the Audácia Concreta exhibition (Caixa Cultural, São Paulo).

Reinterpretations of Luiz Sacilotto's collages and cutouts.

We created an interactive activity in GeoGebra related to Sacilotto's works, featuring vinyl adhesive collages on Duraplac, a type of plastic material used as a base or support for the collages the artist made. Change the position of the points of the circular sector to reinterpret the cutouts as presented in the images of the Audácia Concreta exhibition catalog, held at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum (MON), Curitiba - PR.
Using the commands learned throughout this material, we propose that the reader develop their own reinterpretation inspired by the cover of the Audácia Concreta Exhibition Catalog: The Collages of Luiz Sacilotto, which was held on the third floor of the CAIXA Cultural São Paulo from May 26 to July 29, 2012.
