1. Insert P(α) = a² cos(α) (1 + sin(α)) and press on the Enter key to draw the area of the cross section P as a function of the angle α 2. Insert P'(α)=Derivative(P) to draw the first derivative of the function 3. Notice that when α=30° (the x-coordinate of the point Extreme) the area (cross section of the bed) is largest (the y-coordinate of the point Extreme)
