Professional baseball expands from "watch baseball" to "listen baseball."
KBO announced on the 2nd, "From the 4th, broadcast voice support services will be provided at three stadiums in Jamsil, Sajik, and Gwangju for the visually impaired in the KBO League."
In July 2022, Rep. Kim Ye-ji and President Heo Gu-yeon watched KBO league games together to discuss ways to increase the convenience of baseball for the disabled, and then promoted the project with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. 스포츠토토
The service, which was built to create a baseball viewing environment without discrimination from non-disabled people, allows visually impaired on-site visitors to rent small-output FM radio terminals for free at the stadium site. You can listen to the voice of the TV broadcast in real time through the terminal, so you can watch the game in more detail.
Prior to the implementation of the support service, the service was monitored in advance at Jamsil Stadium on July 27 with the cooperation of the Korea Blind Association. Positive opinions and some improvements on the implementation of this service have been collected, and based on this, we will introduce a more complete service.
KBO will continue to make efforts to improve the stadium environment to increase the convenience of disabled people to watch the KBO league.
