The size of a TV screen is determined by the diagonal of the screen, not the width or height.
Use the Pythagorean Theorem to help solve problems 1-2.
1. If your TV is 36.6" wide and 20.6" tall, how big of a TV did you purchase?

2. If I want to buy a TV that is said to be 50", what possible dimensions could my width and height be? Come up with at least three.
3. Which of the three dimensions you came up with provide the biggest area? How do you know?
