Triangle Patterns in Fabric

The fabric on the back of the airline seats follows a triangular weave.
If you start at any point, you will see first one triangle, then a row above it, and another row above that, etc.
Some triangles point upward, some point down. Within any given row , determine the number of upward pointing triangles, the number of downward pointing triangles, and the total number of triangles. Determine an algebraic expression for each.
