Plant Genetics
Science Connection
IN 1866, Gregor Mendel identified the pattern in which pea plants passed their characteristics on to the next generation of plants. Mendel identified the pattern for pea plants by breeding many plants under identical circumstances. This enabled him to calculate the experimental probability that a given generation of pea plants would have a given characteristic.
