Modelling with linear functions

Introduction

In this activity, we are going to practice modelling with functions, using the functions you learned in Math AASL.

Modelling with linear functions

In this part, we will be modelling shapes using linear functions. You can write these functions in any form you see fit.

Abstract example

Connecting dots

Find a line equation which connects points A and B. Then, find a perpendicular line which passes either through A or through B.

The pyramids of Giza

Modelling the triangle

Find two line equations which model the sides of the triangle

Modelling a street

We have put a map of the main neighbourhoods in Barcelona on the cartesian plane. The "Avinguda Diagonal" runs through the entire city all the way from "Les Corts" to "Diagonal Mar". Find the equation of this street in this context.
