Half a Triangle

On the GeoGebra Facebook page, Jonas Hall posted (http://t.co/FTLMdTXN) a link to a Wolfram demonstration (http://demonstrations.wolfram.com/TriangleAreaBisectors/) about triangle area bisectors, so I made a sketch to look into it. I don't think the hyperbola connection is immediate, and I'm looking for a way to show that.
Some questions this sketch asks:
-if you know one point, how do you know which side the the other dividing point will be on?
-how can you find the other dividing point precisely?
-when the triangle is divided into an equal area triangle and trapezoid, what special properties do they have?
What other questions does this sketch raise for you?
