B5. The apothem of a regular polygon
Draw the apothem of a regular polygon
The apothem is the segment defined by the centre of a regular polygon and the midpoint of one side. GeoGebra does not have any command to draw apothems, but that does not mean that it is impossible to draw them. You will practice to type into the Input Bar, which allows you to assign the names of the objects simultaneously.
1st. Type Q=Centroid(P) into the Input Bar and then press the "Enter ↩" key.
2nd. Type M=Midpoint(A,B) into the Input Bar and then press the "Enter ↩" key.
3rd. Type apothem=Segment(Q,M) into the Input Bar and then press the "Enter ↩" key.
Remember that GeoGebra distinguish capital and small letters.
The two curved arrows located in the upper right corner of the Graphics View allow you to reset the activity.
If the activity is correct, you will get 10 points automatically.
