Golden section in Turkish muqarnas

On holiday in Turkey, I got into a conversation with an architect about the geometry of Turkish muqarnas. He explained that there are many different styles and that the golden section number plays an important role. Below are four photos of muqarnas in modern (21st century) and historic (16th century) mosques in Ottoman style. A part of a muqarnas is the püskül. That is the hanging ornament. On the photo on the right, circled is a püskül with a pentagonal base, next to it is a larger one with a seven-pointed star as its base. The architect sent a sketch with the dimensions of a stylised püskül and a photo of a 3D print. The numbers 1 and 1.618 stand for the proportions of the famous golden section.
