Positive Sequence Component / Outer Napoleon Triangle

The simulator below illustrates Napoleon's Theorem, which states that if equilateral triangles are erected externally (gray lines below) from each side of triangle Va-Vb-Vc (black lines below), then the centers of those triangles will always form an equilateral triangle (orange lines below). The orange triangle is the outer Napoleon Triangle. The points A, B, and C can be moved to change the image. In power system electrical engineering, the outer Napoleon Triangle represents the positive sequence component of the ABC phasor system. Phasors connecting the Va-Vb-Vc triangle center (white point below) to the corners of the orange triangle represent the positive sequence phasors rotated 180 degrees around the center.
