Objectives

Some objectives with gaining the students to play Tetris Game; Transformation Geometry:
  • 7.C.4.1. Determines whether they are matched by comparing planar shapes.
  • 7.C.4.4. On the post, he discovers that each point on the shape is subject to a transformation in the same direction and magnitude.
  • 8.C.2.1. The point forms images of the line segment and other planar shapes under rotation.
  • 8.C.2.2. It turns out that each dot on the figure is subject to rounding around a point in a certain angle in the clockwise or anticlockwise direction, and that figure and image are the same.
  • 8.C.2.4. Shapes form images that appear at most two consecutive displacements, reflections, or rotations.
This game can be played by 8-17 years old children. I will recommend especially 7th or 8th grade students because they have more information about transformation geometry. Also, they play this game more conscious. My main purpose is that students should think more critically with using their imagination and information related with transformation geometry.
