COMBINING AREAS (2)
Construction
You will complete 3 constructions using GeoGebra.
As you read the instructions, look at the EXAMPLE on the GeoGebra page to help you.
Step 1. Construct Rectangles
For each of the 3 constructions, use the POLYGON tool to create two rectangles whose areas represent the dimensions shown on the GeoGebra page.
Use the LENGTH OR DISTANCE tool to label the height and base of each rectangle.
Step 2. Combine Rectangles
Use the MOVE (pointer) tool to drag the two rectangles together so that they form one, larger rectangle.
Step 3. Construct Equivalent Rectangle
Now use the POLYGON tool to create a single rectangle of the same size right below each pair of rectangles.
Use the LENGTH OR DISTANCE tool to label the height and base of the new rectangle.
Step 4. Record the Data
