Definition of Absolute Value

The absolute value of a number is the distance that the number is from the origin
on a number line. You can use the Big Blue dot to change the number. The
absolute value of the number will be displayed to the user.
This applet can be used by teachers in a demonstration mode in the classroom or teachers can have students load it on their own computers as a worksheet to be completed for a grade.
