Surface Area of Cylinders

Experiment in the activity below by moving the Open/Close slider to cut open and to lay the cylinder flat. You can also adjust the height of the cylinder with the Height Adjuster slider. You can also click the Formula checkbox for a reminder of the formula for the surface area of prisms. Guiding Questions A) What shape does the curved surface of a cylinder form?
