This Manipulative allows you to examine how the initial value "a", the base "b" and a vertical shift "k" affect an exponential function (represented by a green line). Use each of the sliders to change the values of a, b and k. Note that as you change the value of k, the horizontal asymptote (represented by a blue dotted line) shifts with the function.
