Exploration 1: Interior Angles of a Triangle

Exploration 1

There is a triangle with 3 large white vertices (points) that can be moved around. The pink slider controls the size of the pink angle at the bottom left vertex. Interact with the triangle, and use the "Slide Me!" tab to see what happens to the interior angles of the triangle. Then, answer the question at the bottom.

Question 1

What do you notice about the SUM of the measures of the pink angle, blue angle, and green angle (the 3 interior angles) of a triangle?

Question 2

Change the size of the angles in the triangle by dragging the vertices and the pink slider. Is your observation in Question 1 the same for any size of a triangle?
