Below is a diagram of a dilation which maps every point in the preimage to every point in the image.
Using the small segment lengths (green) and the larger segment lengths (black), what can we say about the scale factor mapping rectangle ABCD onto A'B'C'D'? (Hint: Use a ratio or fraction).
Do you think this dilation is a reduction or an enlargement?
What statement (once you know the scale factor) can you make about the relationships between each of the corresponding sides as well? (i.e. AB and A'B').
