Line PCA in 3D

Line

Switch to 2D perspective and move the points so that they are in a straight line. After switching back to 3D perspective, how do the points appear when n = 1 and they are projected to PC1, PC2, or PC3?

What is the variance and Explained variance ratio when points are projected onto PC1, PC2, and PC3?

When points are oriented in a line, the EVR should be close to 1 when points are projected onto PC1 and close to 0 for PC2 and PC3. Why do you think this occurs?
