CC - Area of a triangle
Knowing Base and Height:
1. Check the relationship between the areas of the triangle and the parallelogram by moving point E. What do you notice?
2. Calculate the area of the yellow triangle by counting the grid units.
3. Draw at least 3 different triangles of area in the following grid.
Knowing Sides:
There's also a formula to find the area of any triangle when we know the lengths of all sides.
The formula is credited to Heron of Alexandria, who was a Greek Engineer and Mathematician in 10 – 70 AD.

4. What is the area of a triangle where every side is 5 cm long? Round to two decimal places.
