Approximation of pi

In this activity, we use the perimeters of the inscribed and circumscribed polygons to estimate the value of pi. Pi is defined as the ratio: circumference / diameter The circumference of the circle lies between the perimeters of the inscribed and circumscribed polygons. Drag the slider to change the number of sides of the polygon. Pay attention to the estimated value of pi.
