On the inside of the entrance arc there's a geometric pattern in which kufic script is included.
The pattern is created by octagons and squares. Focussing on one octagon, you can see that in it 8 squares are arranged around an 8-pointed star.
In the filling of the squares you can read Allah akhbar.
The 8-pointed star in the middle of the octagon is the Rub el Hizb. The star is generated by two overlapping squares.
De combinatie Allah akhbar in kufisch schrift vind je verder terug in het gebogen vlak van de boog zelf en in zijpanelen van de iwan.
Waar ze op de zijwand van de inkomport gerangschigt staan rond een 8-puntige ster, staan ze in de zijpanelen binnen een 8-puntige ster.
