TrueType Fonts and Bézier Curves

TrueType fonts are constructed by using Bézier curves of degree one and two.
  • Drag the "resize" point to see how the resizing of the letter works.
  • Drag the two free Bézier curves to different parts of the letter and try to match the outline.
In this applet the Bézier curves outlining the letter above are rendered by parametric equations. The endpoints and the control points of the Bézier curves are functions of the width of the letter.
