Here, in the first screencast, a polynomial-of-best-fit (of degree 5) was generated by plotting points and creating a best-fit model as further demonstrated in this previous resource.
In the second screencast, 2 different surface equations were used.

How would you describe these surfaces? What exactly are they?
What could we do differently to improve this 3d model?
How do the equations mathematically ensure the 2 surfaces do not overlap?
