2PP: Where is the viewing target?

In two point perspective with a vertical picture plane, the horizon line drawn between the two principal vanishing points is still at eye level, so the viewing target must lie on the horizon line, somewhere between the principal vanishing points. A top-down view helps us understand more of the relationship between viewing target and viewing distance.
