Copy of Medians and the Centroid
In a triangle, the point of intersection of the three medians is called the Centroid.
Two properties:
1) The three medians meet at a single point.
2) G divides each median into two segments. The vertex segment is twice as long as the segment to the opposite side.
Example:
-Choose a median.
-I choose AD.
-G divides AD into AG, GD.
-A is a vertex, D lies on the opposite side.
-AG is twice as long as GD. (AG = 2 GD)
