We can think of complex numbers as pairs of real numbers with the form: $\mathbb{C}={}{(x,y):x,y\epsilon \mathbb{R}}$ Where addition is defined as: for $x,y,a,b\epsilon \mathbb{R}$ $(x,y)+(a,b)=(x+a,y+b)$ And multiplication defined as: $(x,y)(a,b)=(xa-yb,xb+ya)$
